About us

An oasis is a fertile spot in an otherwise dry arid, and parched land where cool fresh water can be found. An oasis is often surrounded by palm trees and vegetation that sink their roots deep into the surrounding soil to draw up life-giving water, and where animals and people come to quench their thirst and be refreshed. Under the care of God, Oasis Women Nakuru and Nairobi are places of relief and shelter. Safe and nurturing places where women come together to share their experiences, struggles, and successes, and offer each other support, encouragement, and prayer. They are places where women can find respite from the challenges of their daily lives, being refreshed and renewed emotionally and spiritually. Oasis is a source of inspiration and empowerment, helping women to grow in their relationship with God, their families, their community and each other.

Their mother, Miriam, was an Oasis woman who frequently engaged with the Oasis community. In 2019, Miriam passed away sadly and left the boys without a parent as their father was not present. Growing up an orphan herself, Miriam never wanted her children to struggle in similar ways. Her sisters offered to take the boys in; but they were still having trouble finding a school to provide a good education. With the help of No Ordinary Women, Oasis was able to find full scholarships for the boys to attend school. All three of them are currently attending private school and continue learning new things every day.
